I had my MP408 4 channel oscilloscope attached to a 2006 Dodge Charger Can C network back probed at pin 11 and pin15 with the ABS Module connector that could only be partially seated due to the connectors  hinged clam shell lever interference. I try to avoid piercing wires whenever possible when taking pattern samples. This was taken set at 1Vscale  at 20us /div 1 MS stopped and 32 samples viewed. Otherwise its dancing so fast across the screen and random that you can't make any sense of it unless you see it as frozen samples. Not sure what I should be seeing but It wasn't flat lined, so there was communication going on in both wires.

An understanding of oscilloscopes is very helpful to start with.
With that being said, the use of the scope comes down to 3 major categories.
    1. Examining cylinder performance issues.
    2. Examining complex engine and drive train signals and interactions.
    3. Off label; Monitoring and examining serial data communications.
Once you get past the learning curve, you will discover many uses for this indispensable tool.

I find use the MP408 off my PC more often than I use it from my MaxiSys Elite .
From a laptop click this link and download the Maxi scope App.
